Lead one of Cumbria’s most respected social care organisations
Become our next Chief Executive
West House is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next chapter. Supporting adults and children with learning disabilities across Cumbria, West House combines a proud 40-year history with ambitious plans for the future.
Welcome
Thank you for your interest in becoming our next Chief Executive Officer. This is a significant opportunity to join and lead our successful and growing organisation as we embark on our next exciting chapter.
For over 40 years, West House has proudly supported adults and children with learning disabilities across Cumbria. We are one of the region’s most respected social care organisations across our range of stakeholders. We have a dedicated team of more than 400 colleagues, manage an annual income of approximately £15 million, and run a diverse portfolio of regulated services and social enterprises. Our mission is simple yet profound: we change lives every day.
As Chair, I am looking for an exceptional, visible, and authentic partner. You will work closely with the Board to provide the strategic leadership needed to deliver outstanding outcomes for the people we support. This role requires a unique balance. You must possess sharp commercial acumen to ensure our sustainability and growth, alongside a deep, unwavering commitment to social impact.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished executive with significant leadership experience at Director or CEO level within a complex, CQC-regulated organization. You will bring a proven track record of leading through growth, change, or transformation, and a passion for developing high-performing teams. Excellent relationship-building skills are essential, as you will collaborate closely with regulators, commissioners, colleagues, and external partners to shape the future of care in our region.
In return, we offer you the opportunity to lead a highly regarded organisation with a committed workforce and a clear sense of purpose. We are deeply committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and we warmly welcome applications from all backgrounds. If you have the vision, experience, and heart to make a lasting difference to the individuals, families, and communities we serve, we would love to hear from you.
Regards,
Karen Wilson
Chair of the Board
